Don’t ever install Virtual PC for OSX. It totally screwed over my OS X install. Now every 45 minutes or so the machine will kernel panic or give me a “You need to restart your computer” error message.

Fun… I guess really they’re doing a good job of emulating Windows (what with all the kernel panics and all). Ha.

What I really need is VNC access to a Windows machine some where on the Internet. I really can’t believe this service doesn’t already exist.

Anyone have any other ideas? I just need IE so that I can debug TailRank and make sure it works on WinIE. Free beta account for anyone willing to fix my Ajax and CSS code :)

  1. Spend a few hundred dollars on a WindowsXP machine, and turn on Remote Desktop, then use the free Remote Desktop Connection client for Mac OS X (download from Microsoft.com) and you’re in like Flynn.

Yes, spend some money… or just find someone with an extra XP machine, and do same. XP’s Remote Desktop feature is pretty sweet. Probably similar functionality as VNC (which I haven’t used), but having it built into the OS does make things easy.

I use this set up ALL the time to get to my work computer from home.
