logoI just finished up doing a podcast (MP3 link, 34M) with Alex Barnett of Microsoft. Here’s a link to his post on the subject.

You can subscribe to my feed in iTunes or any other podcast application to load this into your iPod.

We talk about TailRank, Attention, OPML, news analysis and meme/attention engines. Alex made some really good points I think. I like how he notes that an Attention Engine is different than a Meme Engine which doesn’t necessarily incorporate your ‘lens’ to focus recommended news stories.

At the end I talk about a feature I haven’t done a good job at evangelizing yet. TailRank supports ‘perspective’ view. For example, I can use Alex’s lense to narrow news so that I’m only using his attention to build recommendations.

Here’s the URL Alex’s . We don’t support tags just yet but I’m hoping we’ll have this available within the next week or so.

It’s cool to read Alex’s perspective because he subscribes to different sources than I do. Now imagine this for left/right political bloggers!
