Looks like Dave Winer is working on another aggregator. Hopefully it will have a lot of new ideas because I think the feed reader space is a war of attrition right now.
It would be really slick to see Dave integrate OPML and SSE and maybe namespaces.
If he does I promise to add TailRank support.

What we need is open server-side aggregator and attention APIs, exposed as RESTian services, XML, or JSONP. Then, developers can innovate with better AJAX/DHTML interfaces or just plain HTML ones if they mash up the APIs on the server side, and leave having to build their own gargantuan spider and data farm and having to take VC money. Seperate church and state, aggregator UI from aggregator backend.

Yeah. I expect more server-side APIs to emerge in 2006…
