This is Scobleizer bait if I ever saw it…

Niall just announced he’s going to work for Microsoft:

Starting next week I will join Microsoft’s Windows Live division to create a new product team around syndication technologies such as RSS and Atom. I will help build a feed syndication platform leveraged by Microsoft products and developers all around the world. I am excited to construct a team and product from scratch focused on scalability and connecting syndication clients and their users wherever they may exist: desktop, mobile, media center, gaming console, widget, gadget, and more.

Hopefully this will mean that IE 7.0 will come out of the box with Tailrank as a default feed ;)

Seriously though. This should mean that the IE 7.0 team will have the right DNA to get this right (if it didn’t already). Having IE 7.0 ship with everything done correctly in the feed space will be important for us all.

Is it just me or is IE 7.0 the new IE 4.0?

  1. Note that I am joining the Windows Live team and not the Windows operating system and Internet Explorer. They do desktop, we exist on the Web.

  2. Damn, while I’m on blog vacation even!

Congrats Niall! You’re so on Channel 9 now! :-)
