I couldn’t help but blog this. According to the UN 14k Iraqi’s have been killed in 2006.
By comparison only 3,000 Americans died in 911.
Granted even one death is a tragedy but the numbers here are a bit shocking.
Update: That’s just the first have of 2006.
Update 2: BoingBoing notes that this is nearly 100 people per day during May and June. Way to go Neocons!

Not that it changes the gist of your post, but about 2,500 Amurricans (assuming that is understood to mean US citizens) were killed in the 9/11 attacks. There were about 500 foreign national deaths.

A real shocker is ratio of Israelis to Palestinians. And no, of course I’m not rationalizing terrorist bombers … but sad fact is most of those folk killed were just civilians at the wrong place at the yada-yada-blah.
But it’s still a “booming business”, war is.
