Apparently they’re considering removing favicon support in Firefox 3.0 because of this…. We are considering removing the favicon from the location bar, and changing the location bar so [...]

Microsoft’s RSS Patent Theft 2

This last week there’s been a great deal of talk about Microsoft’s theft of RSS technology which has been available to the public in various forms over the last few years. IE 7.0 Beating Firefox 2.0 on Tailrank 3

IE 7.0 (20%) is rapidly rising on Firefox 2.0 (4This is good and bad. I’m a big Firefox fan but if IE 7.0 can gain market share at the expense of IE 6.0 then I’m all happy.IE 6.0 is the new Netscape 4.7…

Firefox Extension Idea – Automatic Print Page Redirect 0

For example the NYTimes has two versions of the same URL:http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/01/washington/01foley.html?_r=1&oref=sloginandhttp://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/01/washington/01foley.html?_r=1&oref=slogin&pagewanted=printThe second link is the print version.Someone should write a Firefox extension to detect URLs as they’re loaded and rewrite them to the print version of the URL.Granted this might upset some publishers who want the CPMs for their ads. This probably won’t be as big of a deal though since so few people would end up installing the extension.
