Google Top Blogs Graphed by Rank 1

Looks like there’s a lot of interested in Google Reader blog rank data now that it’s somewhat easy get your hands on. Gabe apparently went through the data and extracted the raw numbers. Techcrunch then ran with it. And of course Scoble jumped on this meme as well. What I find odd is that no [...]

An Open Definition of Blogs 1

Scoble puts forth his definition of blogs which I find far too narrow…. If you’re a blog you apparently have to send pings:I would go as far as saying that a site that does not ping a pingserver, like weblogs.com, is NOT a blog (private Web sites don’t ping weblogs.com and are NOT discoverable by search engines). That’s not a very healthy requirement.

Les Blogs Podcasts 1

Bloxpert has some great podcasts about Les Blogs (just add to iTunes). One where Marc Canter goes insane (in a good way).

Attensa Public Beta Review 6

I just received my Attensa private beta activation and jumped over to check it out.Long story short, I’m not too impressed but I’d like to stay optimistic.

Distributed Comment Spam Discovery and Comment Moderation 1

On the drive to Tag Tuesday Tantek and I were talking about comment spam.Discussion started around nofollow rel links and how it was a shame that comments for everyone fall into the same nofollow category. If a weblog has comment moderation this behavior could be changed a bit.

Nasty New Trackback Spam 3

This is a nasty new clever little evil trackback spam. They’re using the ‘source’ parameter to emulate links since on TypePad this allows HTML to be included.
