Every day you will see numbers somewhere in your life – from your alarm clock in the morning, to the timer on the coffee pot, the clock on the wall telling you when it’s time to head to work and more. Your favourite radio station even shows a number as does your phone number, your pin numbers, bank account and more. So just how important are numbers in our lives, and how can we harness the power of numbers so start moulding our lives into the things we want?
A Numbers Game
Numbers can be incredibly helpful in tracking goals for us. Depending on your own life plan you can use this in a variety of ways from losing weight, losing inches of fat, dedicating time to your own personal hobbies or goals, or even tracking your hours working if you’re self employed. Even tracking hours put into projects for a traditional employer can help you identify pitfalls for the employer where they may be lacking extra support for projects, such as if it takes you 30 hours to do a project but if two people had been assigned it would have taken 15 hours instead can be hugely beneficial for an employer to be made aware of so they can allocate resources more appropriately. Not only does it save the employer man hours and money, but it helps alleviate stress on your part by having support too.
If you’re looking to lose weight or even get into shape, number tracking can help you keep track of your progress – going from five pound weights to eight pound weights and so on, or watching that scale tip lower and lower which in turn helps motivate you to keep on with your fitness and eating regimen.
Lucky Numbers vs Unlucky Numbers
Everyone has their own superstitions when it comes to lucky versus unlucky numbers and often times when people choose their lucky powerball numbers they pick numbers representative of their children’s birthdays or other important dates like their wedding date and the like. There are a number of ways to pick lucky numbers for things like raffles and lotteries – which are your favourite? Which numbers do you consider extremely unlucky? The typical “unlucky number” is 13 for many, and even hotels and apartment buildings can sometimes ignore floor thirteen and skip from twelve to fourteen out of superstition.
The Importance of Birthdays
Many people find that birthdays can be particularly auspicious days and those who are more spiritually minded or believe in astrology find that birthdays and times of birth can be useful in predicting personalities and the life path of the individual. Not everyone believes this of course, but it’s just another way in which birthdays can be considered one of the most important numbers we carry throughout our lives. After all, it’s another set of numbers you need to remember for all your family and friends, isn’t it!
So there you have a couple of ways that numbers play a role in our lives. From daily life to fitness and even something as seemingly basic as birthdays, it’s easy to see why people have certain numbers they find particularly lucky or unlucky!
