Packing for a vacation is never easy, and it’s likely that you’ll either take too much with you or leave something important behind. If you’re about to start packing for your vacation, you may appreciate some tips that could make packing a breeze.
1 – Write A Packing List
Write a packing list 2-3 weeks before you go on vacation. Make sure the list includes your daily essentials such as medication, clothes, shoes, eye glasses, and food. However, it’s also important to include any specialist items you’ll need for your travel activities. For example, if you’re going on a Wings bareboat charter Whitsundays, you’re going to need swimmers, sunscreen and snorkelling gear.
Once the list is done, leave it in a visible place so you can see it every day. Stick the list to the refrigerator, or put it in your diary so you see it every time you check your schedule.
If you see your packing list every day, you’re less likely to forget to pack those much-needed items.
2 – Take The Minimum Amount Of Toiletries With You
Toiletries can and often do take up a lot of room. It can be so tempting to take shampoo, conditioner, a toothbrush and toothpaste with you, followed by piles of makeup, or hair products.
Take the minimum amount of toiletries with you, and double them up if you can. For example, if you can find shampoo and conditioner in one, take that and save the space for something else.
Take the makeup and hair products that you use each day, and leave the rest at home. Once you have all of your toiletries together, keep them in a zip-locked bag so any spillages and leakages stay within the bag, making them easier to manage.
3 – Fill Your Footwear With Small Items
Shoes, sneakers, heels, and tennis shoes can take up a lot of room, but you can use them to your advantage. Fill your footwear with small items such as socks, undergarments, or anything else that will fit in there.
Filling your footwear will mean you’ll have a lot more room in your luggage, and allow you to take a few more things with you.
4 – Wrap Clothes Around Your Breakables
If you’re taking anything breakable with you on vacation, wrap some of your clothes around them. Put one breakable into the center of your shirt for example, and roll your shirt around it.
Not only is this a great way to prevent breakables from becoming damaged, but it can help to prevent your shirt from becoming creased too.
5 – Pack Clothes That You Can Wear With Multiple Outfits
Do you have a scarf or a few t-shirts that you can wear with multiple outfits? If you do, you should consider packing them. A mini- wardrobe that’s full of clothes that match just about anything is a smaller wardrobe, meaning you have a lot less to carry around.
The above hacks can help to make packing for your vacation so much easier. Make a list of the things you need to take with you, pack the minimum amount of toiletries, and save a bit of room.
Fill your footwear with smaller items, and wrap your clothes around breakables, before packing clothes that can be worn with multiple outfits. Make packing for your vacation a breeze, so that you have less to worry about, and less to check-in at the airport.
